In 2014, an award-winning children’s toiletries brand approached Beer & Young to secure growth capital. The company, Childs Farm, had developed a sensitive skincare range made entirely from naturally derived ingredients.
We identified and presented to our most suitable investor, leapfrogging them into a garden meeting with the client.
Within a matter of weeks, our investor had provided £650,000 in funding, gained a suitable equity piece and joined forces with the company in a managerial, marketing and strategising capacity.
Our investor proved to be a game changer for Childs Farm, enabling them to launch in UK supermarkets. Having a heavyweight on the board certainly demonstrated to big retailers that this company meant business!
It’s been four years since the initial investment and Childs Farm now has a team of 20, an annual turnover of £5.7m and a product range available through Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
