Chris has 12 years experience in primarily finance roles in the automotive industry, and 6 years experience buying, and then developing his own business in the recruitment sector. He has an economics and philosophy degree from Oxford University and an MBA from Warwick University.

He started his career with Ford Motor Company, completing a variety of assignments, latterly becoming Finance Director of the Sales Company in Denmark. He then joined the senior management team at Aston Martin, contributing to its significant growth achievements between 1999 and 2005. In 2005 he bought an existing recruitment agency operating in the logistics sector. Having successfully developed this business he sold out in 2011 in order to join the Beer & Young team in January 2012.
